![]() Fancy Hands focuses on intangible errands, like researching hotels or flights, finding a dog walker, or even locating a particular brand you like but can’t find. Just in case you still do, though, there’s a refresh button at the bottom of the site that keeps the compliments coming.įor those people who are always learning (a group that includes everyone here at Agency Fusion), DIY offers offers hundreds of skills you can develop – skills like sculpting, astronomy, foraging in the wilderness, hardware hacking, and cartography, among many others.įancy Hands and TaskRabbit each help provide valuable services. With statements like, “Your parents are more proud of you than you’ll ever know,” “People at trivia night are terrified of you,” and, “Your blog is the best blog,” you’ll never have to feel crappy again. You need to see it in use to appreciate it. Quicker than a spreadsheet, clearer than a calculator, and portable to boot, Soulver is a simple app that does your calculations for you in plain, readable English. These kicks can eventually be redeemed for gift cards to these stores. Shopkick is a rewards-program-type app that gives you “kicks” (reward points) just for walking into stores, viewing their ads, or scanning items and purchases. It contains all the documentation and demos to get you started. “An exquisite jQuery plugin for magical layouts,” Isotope declares on their site. inuit.css is more about design patterns than design decisions. It is designed for those who want to focus primarily on the structural code, since there is little-to-no design provided by the framework. Inuit.css is a powerful Sass based, Object Oriented framework that is full of objects and abstractions. It also includes some additional functions like easy installation into web projects, integrated scripts for customizing Bootstrap and Fuel UX, simple updates, and solid optimization for deployment. Fuel UXįuel UX is a lightweight library that extends Twitter Bootstrap with some additional JavaScript controls, a Grunt build, and AMD capability. Unwrap it each week, and know that you’re loved by the geeks and pixel-pushers at Agency Fusion. Fusion Radar is our gift to you, Current or Potential Client, so that you can enjoy all of the awesome without any of the drudgery. Luckily, we enjoy wading through the noise just to find the gems of awesomeness sprinkled throughout. The advances in wheels have improved this and for most user use cases the difficulties have become much rarer when using a pip/pypi only workflow.Keeping up with technology is a lot of work. Thus mamba was created to improve performance and now conda is bringing in that performance boost.Ĭonda was created because pip couldn't (and still can't) manage general package management for all software you may want in a consistent environment. This quote alludes to it "Conda will never be as fast as pip, so long as we're doing real environment solves and pip satisfies itself only for the current operation." (from ). pip gained a new dependency resolver in 2020 which improved pip's abilities and put it on par with conda.Ĭonda's dependency solver solves a harder problem than pip's. conda was released in 2012 and solved dependency resolution that pip couldn't do (among other things). conda was invented (at least partially) to properly solve for dependencies because pip failed at it in a number of ways. Pip long suffered from dependency resolution problems. The alternative a proven multi-core C++ library. Conda tried to roll their own solver that runs on a single core in pure Python. This is also an interesting lesson in software design. ![]() In my case it took a 2 hour 17 minute install down to 16 minutes or so. Then you just add the flag -solver=libmamba to each command you want to use it with thereafter and compare the difference. apparently it's fairly straightforward to fix Conda: conda install -n base conda-libmamba-solver ![]() ![]() Lots of people would rather keep using Conda. Mamba, an alternative to Conda, is a known solution but it just isn't the same. If you misstep in just the wrong way however, you can easily take 3+ hours for the algorithm to figure out what's compatible. A bit more complex environment, and you can take 20 minutes. Trying to add 6 packages for example can take 300 seconds to solve. If you've dealt with Conda for data science, or just because it's a cool environment, you know the algorithm Conda uses to solve library conflicts is not great.
